The Bedfordshire U16 players travelled to Bethnal Green Academy to play in the second round of the southern regional county schools handball tournament on Saturday. The boys started the tournament in 3rd place after a solid performance in the 1st round in their first ever fixture as a county. The squad consisted of 10 Biddenham students and 1 Redborne student.
The boys played 3 fixtures and were undefeated in all games. Winning 2 out of the 3 and drawing against London who finished top over the 2 rounds. The Bedfordshire boys ended up winning the 2nd round which put them in 2nd place over the 2 rounds missing out on first by 1 point! This is a great achievement for the boys in their first ever county season. The boys have now qualified for the national competition in February and trials for the southern county squad again due to be held in February.
Well done boys a great achievement!
