Athletes of the Week 07 - 11 May 2012

Dario Stevenson

Dario was part of the U18 rugby 7s team that last weekend came a close 2nd to Sharnbrook. Dario's performance during the tournament helped the team pull off some fantastic results, in particular against Wootton. Well done Dario. We will miss you next year!

Amen Izedonmwen

Amen was part of the U16 girls' rugby 7s team that came 2nd to Wootton. Amen, playing 2 years up, put in some fantastic performances and motivated the team throughout the whole tournament. Well done Amen. Keep up the good work.

Joe Darby and Cam Wright

Joe was successful in making it into the final England Handball squad to take part in a 2 week Olympic legacy event and the Partile Cup in Sweden in the Summer. Cam Wright also made it through to the squad taking part in the tournament. Well done Joe and Cam we are all very proud of you. Good luck!

Kiah Powell

Kiah Powell only ever having played Handball on a couple of occasions for school has successfully made it into the U16 England Handball team who will take part in a 2 week Olympic legacy event and the Partile Cup in Sweden this summer. Well done Kiah we are all very proud of you. Good luck!

Aaron Morris

Aaron is part of Bedford Blues Rugby Academy and over the last year has worked very hard to become a vital part of the Blues setup. Aaron's hard work has paid off and he has been selected to train with the Bedford Blues first team during pre-season. Aaron is a real potential talent for the future. Well done Aaron for all your hard work. We are all very proud of you.

Kathryn Saberi

Katie played in the first tennis fixture of the year on Thursday in a tough opening game against Bedford Girls' School. A fixture that Biddenham has never won. Katie put in a tremendous performance in difficult weather conditions to beat Bedford Girls' School's number 1 player 7-6 after a tie break. Well done Katie, keep up the good work!

Lissie Simpson

Lissie Simpson attended U16 England Handball trials during Easter and successfully made it through to the final 22 along with Kiah and Brenna. This is an amazing achievement for Lissie who only took up the sport a year ago. Well done Lissie keep up the good work and good luck in the next trials!

Aqeeb Iftikhar

Aqeeb played in the U14 boys' football semi-final and despite the scoreline Aqeeb pulled off a number of fantastic saves keeping the boys in the game. Aqeeb's commitment to football this year has been very good. Well done Aqeeb keep up the good work and commitment now with the cricket season ahead of us!

Kiah Powell

Kiah Powell has recently been selected to take part in the U16 England girls' handball trials after her excellent performance at the county handball tournament. She will will be attending these trials with Brenna Ryan and Lissie Simpson. Well done Kiah, good luck and keep up the good work!

Adam Dodds

Adam Dodds competed in the European Judo Championships in Holland last week. This is a massive achievement for Adam to reach this competition. Adam was very successful in the championship and won the gold medal! Well done Adam, we are very proud of you, keep up the good work!
