You may already be aware that your son or daughter is due to sit a controlled assessment for Drama in December. This means that, rather than completing coursework at home, they will be expected to plan a piece of drama and evaluate their plan in school, under controlled exam conditions.
As a department, we believe that this makes formal assessment much fairer because all students are given same opportunity to prepare and the same conditions in which to produce their final piece of performance and written work. However, it also makes it essential that students are present for the controlled assessment sessions.
I would like to take this opportunity to inform you of the key dates. Your son or daughter will plan their controlled assessment performance over the course of two complete days. Please see the table below for information.

8th and 9th December 8am to 2:30pm
Students will showcase their performances the week beginning 12 December to parents, guardians and friends. We look forward to seeing you at this exam showcase.
