A selection of photos from the recent school production of Chatroom by Enda Walsh.
On the 3rd November 2011 the drama department took GCSE groups year 10 and 11 to Milton Keynes Theatre to see one of "the most spectacular visual and interactive productions of modern theatre", Slava’s Snowshow. The production was enjoyed by all, drawing comments such as "one of the best drama shows ever seen" and "10 out of 10 for its interaction with the audience".
Slava's Snowshow is one of the best drama shows I have ever seen. It was so creative and random. Even though it didn’t have a typical storyline it was still amazing.
Kara Fitzgerald
Slava's Snowshow is one of the best pieces of drama I have ever seen! I loved how the set was so simple but there was so much depth in the characters. Truly amazing!
Zara Nicholls
I have just viewed one of the most monumental shows ever using abstract techniques that causes exhilarating effects. It keeps your mind engaged throughout.

Extra Activities for AS/A2 Drama students in collaboration with :
These workshops are designed to introduce students to higher education and specifically the study of drama/theatre within higher education. The workshop for Year 12/13 students also provides participants with advice and guidance about the audition and interview process at Central. Workshops are offered free of charge to our students.
Dear Parent/Guardian
As part of your son or daughter's course in GCSE Drama, we have arranged a theatre trip that will enhance their studies this term. We are very excited and have booked the best seats in the house for a theatre trip to see Slava's Snowshow at Milton Keynes Theatre on 3rd November.
Students will come to school as normal in smart, casual clothes suitable for the theatre. They will attend lessons in the morning (period 1-4) and then catch the coach at lunchtime 12:45. Students must meet in the drama studio to register. Students will watch a matinee performance of the show then return to school at approximately 5pm.
If you haven't already done so, please print complete this consent form and enclose the relevant sum of money to cover the cost of this trip. If your son or daughter wishes to attend please enclose £33 (cash/cheque).
Yours faithfully

Dear Parent/Guardian,
We would like to invite you to our Chill Out festival which will take place on Wednesday 13th July 2011 at the school. The festival will last from 1:30 pm to 5pm in the quad, hall, drama studio and reception.
The event is free but there will be lots of stalls; food, face painting, a wellbeing area, arts industry links and games including sumo wrestling and even a bucking bronco. We have entitled this festival Chill Out as we aim to showcase students' work in the creative arts field in a relaxed festival atmosphere. This is a great opportunity to enjoy an afternoon as a school community using the creative arts to bring people together.
There will be plenty to do on the day including a gig in the main school hall, dance, theatre and street theatre acts as well as an acoustic area, for students and staff to celebrate their successes. This year departments across the school will also be celebrating what is possible creatively across the curriculum. Due to last years' success of starting in the afternoon the school has kindly agreed to start the festival in the early afternoon at 1:30 (students will register as normal and then we encourage students to stay on site untill 5pm).
We cordially invite parents, teachers and friends who will provide an invaluable audience and we guarantee you will enjoy your time at the festival. If you are not a member of our school community and would like to attend this event, please contact the school who will advise you on signing in as a visitor at this event.
We would also appreciate it if students could organise to be picked up at 5pm and provide some pocket money to support the activities and refreshments at the event.
We look forward to seeing you at the Chill Out Festival to support and celebrate the wealth of creativity we have in all its many forms.
Yours sincerely, on behalf of the Student Arts Leaders
Joya Brahmachari, Head of Drama/AST
