Headline Information
Our GCSE results were the best ever with an A* to C pass rate of 60%.
All of the students who took the GCSE early at the end of year 10 achieved an A* to C in Mathematics.
We had our first student completing the whole of the AS course in year 11 and gaining a grade A.
Information About the Department
- We have 6 maths classrooms within the department, each of these has an interactive whiteboard.
- As well as teaching all students GCSE from year 9, we offer the opportunity for the gifted and talented students in Mathematics to take a Maths into AS option. This allows the students to take their GCSE Mathematics at the end of year 10 and also provides extra modules towards their maths should they continue it in year 12.
- We also take part in the Maths Team Challenge organised by the University of Leeds.
- We run a chess club.
- We also offer concept catch up sessions at lunchtime that are available for all students.
