From the Chair of Governors

Print

Dear Students, Parents and Carers

You will know from previous correspondence that in January 2011, Mike Berrill, our headteacher of the last 15 years became the Executive Principal of the Biddenham Campus Trust – an overarching body responsible for the development of both Biddenham International School and Sports College and the soon to be built Great Denham Primary School & Family Learning Centre.

As a result David Bailey, who has been the Head of School now for the past four years, was promoted to the post of interim Headteacher. He was appointed to this position on the understanding that he would be set a series of targets for the year and if he were to meet them this post would be made permanent.

Having met his targets, he was called to a final interview before a panel of governors led by the Chair of Governors and including representatives from the staff, local community and the local authority; here he presented his strategic vision for the school over the next three years.

I am happy to report that Mr Bailey met all of his targets and shared with us an exciting vision for the school. Accordingly I am writing to inform you that from January 2012 David will become the substantive Headteacher at Biddenham. On behalf of the Governing Body I send him our congratulations and all of our best wishes for his future success.

As he has done for the past 10 years, David will continue to work in close and harmonious partnership with Mr Berrill, and together they will lead Biddenham and broader Campus Trust on the next exciting stage of the journey from being a 'good' to a 'great' school.

Yours sincerely

Carole Bell
